After being relased form prison, Debbie decides to get her daughter Sarah back.
Andy has always been against Debbie spending time with Sarah, ever since she gave her away to Emily who dissapeared with her for months.
After convicing Andy to let her see Sarah, Debbie arrives at the farm only to find Sarah on her own while Andy is busy with Maisy Wilde in the bedroom. Debbie tells him that she is going to get custody of their daughter.
With Cain now back he tries to help Debbie in her fight, using his usual threatening manner to scare Andy off.
Debbie and Andy both get visits from the Custody people to see which can offer Sarah the best, Cain finds Sarah alonein the street when she should be with Andy and brings her home to Debbie while she's being interviewed. Cain's pleased that he got one over on Andy, but Debbie has a go at him and tells him she wants to go by the book wihout resorting to tricks to gets the better of Andy.
After some weeks the custody hearing arrives, but Andy fails to show up, puting a big smile on Cain's face. Debbie discovers that he's not there because the epolice are talking to him about his past with his wife Jo.
Andy starts to realise he could lose his daughter and resorts to desperate measures. He locks Debbie in the Farm and tries to convince her to let him keep Sarah, after several hours of talking and shouting Andy realises how much Debbie wants Sarah back.
The day of the final cusody hearing finally comes, Debbie emotionally tells of how much she wants her daughter back.
When Andy gets his turn to speak he makes the shock anouncement that he's giving up his custody application, giving Debbie her daughter back permanently.
Debbie's relieved to have her daughter back, but feels sorry for Andy. What Debbie doesn't know is that Andy losing his daughter sends him into a deep depression which will take him monthes to get over.
